Mrs. Amanda ROBINSON PETRIE

Originally from British Columbia, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology with a minor in Business Management from Thompson Rivers University, followed by a Bachelor of Education in Math and Science from UBC Okanagan. My teaching journey began in High Level, Alberta, at High Level Public School (HLPS), part of the Fort Vermilion School Division. From 2014 to 2020, I taught a variety of subjects, navigating my teaching career alongside three maternity leaves.
Following my return to HLPS during the COVID-19 pandemic, I transitioned to the Outreach School in High Level—then known as the Learning Store, now Pathways—where I taught Math and Science and helped with academic planning until relocating to Edson in 2024.
Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Itinerant Substitute Teacher for Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD). This role offered an ideal transition into a new community and division, allowing me to connect with students, staff, and families across four Edson public schools: Parkland, Pine Grove, Mary Bergeron, and Westhaven. It has been a joy to work alongside such dedicated educators and get a firsthand experience of the values and culture that make GYPSD so special.
My family and I have also embraced the opportunity to engage in many of the community’s extracurricular activities and explore the natural beauty surrounding Edson. These experiences have deepened our appreciation for this welcoming and vibrant area.
As I step into my new role as Assistant Principal of École Pine Grove Middle School, I’m excited for the learning and leadership opportunities ahead. Having already built relationships with many staff members and students, I am committed to supporting a school culture that is safe, inclusive, caring, and respectful. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the journey ahead.
