Student Registration

School Registration is completed online. We encourage you to visit, GYPSD School Registration for further information. 

 

All Returning Student Verification forms are asked to be submitted for the 2022/2023 school year prior to June 30th, 2022.

  • New Student Registration and Returning Student Verification forms in Grande Yellowhead Public School Division are conducted exclusively online.

Every child enrolling in Grande Yellowhead Public School Division has a designated school. Click here to find your child's local school/program.

  • All parents and guardians must complete a registration form or returning student verification form before their student can be registered for the upcoming school year.  
  • Please note, each school in GYPSD will have a computer available for any families requiring access or assistance when filling out the form.

Acceptance to a school of choice will be based upon existing GYPSD AP 300 Admission of Students including availability or non-availability of space and resources.

  • Please contact your school secretary if you need further clarification. 

New Student is one who has never been enrolled in a school in GYPSD or was not enrolled in a GYPSD school on the last day of school in the previous school year, as well as new kindergarten students entering school for the first time.

Returning Student is one who was enrolled in a GYPSD school on the last day of the previous school year (e.g. students entering Grades 1-12).

 

2022/2023 Returning Student Verification

Confirm NOW for 2022! 

All Returning Student Verification forms are asked to be submitted for the 2022/2023 school year prior to June 30th, 2022.

Snapcodes are mailed out beginning the week of February 14, 2022.

Families are encouraged to submit the Returning Student Verification Form to confirm enrolment for the 2022/2023 school year.  

If you have not received your Snapcode, please check your spam folder prior to contacting your school secretary.

School Bus Transportation

Information on School Bus Registration

All passengers must be registered and fees must be paid prior to riding the school bus by June 30th. 

GYPSD Transporation Service cannot allow non-registered children onto a school bus. For access to a school bus ride in case of an emergency, please email Transporation Services at transportation@gypsd.ca 

Parents are required to review the School Bus Rider Rules with their children. 

GYPSD uses the Bus Status App to keep parents informed of any cancellations or delays. 

Process:

  • All students, both new and returning riders, are required to complete the online registration form located below.
  • An email following your registration form will be sent confirming your registration status within 10 business days. Please contact email transportation@gypsd.ca if you have not received this confirmation.
  • Transportation Services confirms fee payment with Finance.
  • Transportation Services enters the student onto a bus route and informs Bus Driver.
  • Bus Driver contacts family with pick-up and drop-off times.

School jurisdictions are provided funding to transport eligible students to their designated school only.

Non-funded services are available through fees which are determined annually by the Board of Trustees and are posted in Policy 17, Appendix A.
